A redesign is different from a new build because you have something worth protecting. Your site has pages Google already trusts, content you've written over years, and links from other sites pointing to it, so the job is to modernize the design, speed, and structure without losing any of that. I start with an audit of what's working and what isn't, design the new site around your existing brand, migrate every page, and map old addresses to new ones with 301 redirects, which are the permanent forwarding instructions that tell Google where a page moved. After launch I watch Search Console for two weeks so anything unexpected gets fixed while it's small, and that's the same process whether you're in Southeast Iowa or elsewhere in the Midwest.
